What is Reiki?

Reiki was re-discovered by Dr Mikao Usui in Japan in the 1920s. This is a gentle and non-invasive energy therapy that will be used by the body to help heal, rejuvenate and reinvigorate.

 

Reiki is a simple and safe form of hands-on energy therapy for self-care/ improvement. It is complementary to any form of other therapies. Whether it is natural, conventional or medical, and it can often be used in circumstances where other treatment may be contraindicated. Reiki can help to restore balance to the physical, mental emotional aspects of your health.

 

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words.

 

Rei means “Divine”, represents universal, omnipresence

Ki means “Energy”, represents vitality, life force

 

The use of Reiki is not dependent on one’s faith, religion or belief system, hence there is nothing one must believe in order to learn or use Reiki. However, Dr Mikao Usui recommended that one should practice simple ethical ideas to promote peace and harmony which transcend across all cultures.

How is Reiki given?

Reiki can be given in 2 ways.

  1. Contact Reiki – where Reiki is given through the practitioner’s hands to you, in person

  2. Distance Reiki – where Reiki is given over a distance if one is unable to be physically present

How can Reiki benefit me?

Can I learn Reiki?

Anyone can learn Reiki, including school-going children! After you have completed Reiki level 1 class, you will be able to use Reiki for life and it can be activated through your hands any time for you to treat yourself or others.

 

Regardless of your faith, religion or belief system, Reiki is ideal for anyone who are not familiar with the natural methods of healing as it provides an excellent foundation.

LEARNING REIKI
Reiki Level 1 (Beginner)

This is the foundation course for activating Reiki flow in your hands. Reiki is ideal to begin your journey to wellness or to complement both conventional and alternative methods of healing that you may be using.

 

Reiki accelerates one’s natural ability to heal, balance the mind and body, calm emotions, stimulate spiritual equilibrium, relieves stress and tension, support and catalyse change.

 

​At The 1 Space, we teach Reiki in 2 parts. Reiki as the energy source, and Reiki as a system of treatment or healing – the Traditional Usui (system of) Reiki. And since Reiki has no dogma, so there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. Anyone, regardless of your faith, religion or belief, can attend this workshop. This will be an experiential workshop with hands-on practical, sharing, and discussion. You will be able to experience Reiki for yourself and leave the workshop confident in your new skill.

 

Reiki will be accessible to you for life after this workshop. You will have with you, a simple and easy tool to use always, to support yourself and your love ones to better health and well-being!

Level 1 Workshop Outline

  • Introduction to energy and healing

  • Usui Reiki history and background

  • 4 Reiki attunements

  • Balancing technique for Chakra energy system

  • Full body healing treatment

  • First aid treatment

  • Giving others a Reiki treatment

  • Giving Reiki to animals and plants

  • Intuitive healing treatment

Reiki Level 2 (Advanced)

Reiki 2 is the next level for you if you would like to deepen and go-forward in your journey with Reiki. By this time, you would normally have obtained experience, skill and a level of intuitive understanding towards the unlimited power of Reiki.

 

This second level workshop allows you to enhance your hands-on Reiki practice by offer Reiki treatments to your loved ones (over distance) who are physically not within reach. Through the use of sacred symbols, you can also apply Reiki for other uses such as harmonising issues or challenges in your life. At the same time, Level 2 Reiki can also be used to deepen your self-inquiry or contemplative practice.

Reiki Level 2 Prerequisite

  1. Reiki Level 1 of the traditional Usui Reiki lineage.

  2. A minimum two-month period of regular and consistent self-Reiki practise after Level 1.

Level 2 Workshop Outline

  • Reiki symbols attunement

  • Introduction to Reiki symbols as enhancing tools

  • The Empowerment symbol:  increases Reiki flow as though ‘funnelling’ it to maximise flow rate and power.  Also empowers other energy fields.

  • The Harmony symbol: commonly used for harmonising other energy fields and environments to increase harmony and balance eg. harmonising homes, other people, incidents, for improved vibrations.

  • The Sending symbol:  this symbol allows Reiki to be sent to different energy fields whether they be other locations (both geographical or time), other incidents such as trauma, internal emotional blocks etc.  This is a very powerful source of personal growth as the practitioner can directly tune into the root of your issues and fix them on the casual plane.

Reiki Level 3 (Master)

Reiki Level 3 embodies and integrates Reiki into your life, so it becomes who you are rather than what you do. It is often described as the most shifting and transformative life experience. In this workshop, you will receive the Master’s attunement to further deepen your Reiki practice and spiritual journey.

 

The focus of Reiki Level 3  is to help you reconnect and deepen your own spiritual practice, so you can utilise this energy more effectively in helping you create the life you truly want; this becomes effortless as the True Self makes itself known and the ego begins to fall away as you become more and more present in the ‘here and now’

 

This is an ideal workshop for those wishing to advance their Reiki journey to a higher level, short of teaching Reiki.

NOTE: Reiki level 3 is about transformation – it can be extremely challenging for those who have not mastered the Reiki level 2 techniques.  The homework (sent after registration) is specifically designed to help you get ready, please do not underestimate the shifts at this level.

Level 3 Workshop Outline

  • The heart and minor chakras attunement

  • Using the Master's symbol in sending and healing

  • Professional healing

  • Moving into the Master's energy

Reiki Level 3 Prerequisite

  1. You must have taken Reiki Level 2 with Teachers from the Takata/ Hayashi/ Usui lineage masters teacher. If you are from a different lineage, you may need to begin at Level 1

  2. At least a six-month interval period from Reiki 2.

  3. Homework is required prior to Reiki 3. You are strongly encouraged to complete them before you begin the level.
